Marcus Garvey was born in Saint Ann's Bay, Jamaica on August, 17th 1887. Ever since he was a child he wanted to change the world. He would grow up to become a leader in the black nationalist movement and founder of the UNIA which he created on July,15th 1914.During world war I and the 1920s, the UNIA was the largest black secular organization in history with over a million men and women from the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa involved in the group. He even started his own shipping company which unfortunately did not last very long because soon after the business was just starting to become succesfull, Marcus Garvey was falsely sent to 5 years in prison and deported for mail fraud. He then Moved to London where he died at the age of 52 from a stroke.
